Seat Yourself’s Principals
Tim Peierls (MS Computer Science, Cornell University) and David Lichtenstein (PhD Computer Science, UC Berkeley) originally met in 1980 at Yale University's Computer Science Department. Over the last decade and a half, they have together created three software products.
Tim is a member of the Executive Committee of the Java Community Process and served on three of its Expert Groups (166, 201, 330). He is a co-author of the book, Java Concurrency in Practice.
In addition to his technical work, Tim was the producer for several record albums, most recently Colloquy: music by Gary William Friedman. He also wrote music and lyrics and served as music director for children's theatre productions in collaboration with Jeffrey Sanzel, Artistic Director of Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, NY.
Paul Christmann (MS Operations Research, University of Texas at Austin) has worked with Tim and David since 1993. He has lived in New Orleans since 1994, except for a year spent in Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina.
Paul is an adjunct professor of computer science at Tulane University, teaching Object Oriented Software Development at Tulane University in New Orleans. Paul has also been a contributor to such open source projects as the Apache ant project and the Castor project.
Kenneth Bob is an experienced software executive with a focus on strategic business development, sales and marketing. He has previously worked with David, Tim and Paul in technology enterprises.
Seat Yourself® was formerly named BoxPop, and while both these names are officially registered with the Secretary of State in New York, the company is a Delaware partnership named Prior Artisans, LLC.
